Safety Council Meeting

TOPIC:   Overcoming Learned Helplessness in the Workplace

The threat of a dangerous virus along with seemingly endless quarantine, job losses and schedule disruptions along with unparalleled fear and frustration are set to unleash a tsunami of learned helplessness across our nation in the coming months or possibly, years! Learned Helplessness is a debilitating behavioral disorder triggered when individuals perceive a loss of control over their lives leading to a dramatic drop in performance and motivation.

Speaker:  Bruce Boguski
Bruce Boguski, author, motivational speaker, columnist, and media personality well known for his ability to inspire others to “do the impossible”. Bruce holds a B.S. degree in business and education from Bowling Green State University. He also possesses a Level Two Certification in Brain Based Learning Strategies. He later served as a head basketball coach and assistant football coach at Van Buren High School and the men’s and women’s tennis coach at The University of Findlay.
